Yes. You can use DoorDash and Uber Eats during the same shift by comparing offers while you’re free, accepting one job, pausing new requests in the other app, and finishing the delivery before looking again. Start with one accepted delivery at a time; you do not need to carry orders from both apps at once.
1. Get both apps ready
Check your account access and finish setup while parked. In this guide, DoorDash means US restaurant delivery in Earn per Offer mode; Earn by Time has different decline rules. App labels and availability can vary by version and market.
Start your DoorDash session
Open the Dash tab and tap Dash Now when it’s available. If it isn’t, you may see Schedule instead, which lets you choose a later time and location.
Go online for Uber Eats
In the Uber Driver app, check that delivery requests are enabled, then tap GO when your account can go online. Verify the online status in both apps; simply opening them does not start requests.
2. Compare more than the payout
Look at the payout, total miles, likely pickup wait, delivery time and where you will finish. A larger payout can leave you with a longer trip and an empty drive back. If a time estimate is missing, do not treat it as zero.
Here is a hypothetical comparison, not actual offers or expected earnings. The estimates cover driving to pickup, restaurant waits and delivery through handoff. Add only the time and miles still needed to reach your next working area.
With these assumptions, the $9 offer has stronger gross rates than the $12 offer. If the second trip ends near home at the end of your shift, its return travel may disappear and change the decision. 3. Manage new requests after you choose an offer
After accepting one offer, pause the other app while parked and confirm the status changed before heading to the pickup. Pausing requests does not cancel a delivery you have already accepted.
Finish the delivery before looking for another. If the restaurant is late, report the delay through the active app. A second pickup on the same road can still add waiting and handoff time that makes both orders late.
Pause DoorDash when you accept an Uber Eats order
With no active DoorDash delivery, open the upper-left menu and choose Pause orders under Dash options. Watch the pause countdown: letting it expire can end your Dash, and another slot may not be available.
Stop Uber Eats requests when you accept a DoorDash order
Tap the You’re online bar, then GO OFFLINE. Uber says you can also go offline during an active delivery and finish it without receiving new requests. Tap GO when you’re ready and the app allows you to resume.
Pause after finishing an active DoorDash delivery
During an active DoorDash delivery, open the upper-left menu and enable Stop orders after this delivery under Dash options. After the handoff, the pause lasts up to 35 minutes. Use Resume Dash only when you can take work, or End Dash when done.
4. Check whether using both apps helps your earnings
A second app helps when it fills time you would otherwise spend waiting for suitable work. Compare similar days and time windows with one app and with both. Record total working time, final payouts, work miles and expenses; include waiting and repositioning, and treat personal breaks consistently.
For example, $48 from DoorDash plus $36 from Uber Eats over one four-hour shift is $84 ÷ 4 = $21 per hour gross. This is illustrative arithmetic, not an earnings forecast. Do not add overlapping online hours from the two apps. Subtract your work expenses when estimating what you keep.
Offer history tells you what was shown. Use delivery-app records for completed jobs and final payouts. Saved offer screenshots can help explain a decision, but do not prove that a job was completed or paid.
Can you work for DoorDash and Uber Eats at the same time?
DoorDash’s US contractor agreement, section 2.4, allows work for competing businesses, including while logged in, provided you meet its terms. Uber’s published US delivery agreement also permits other platforms; that PDF is dated March 2021, so your own accepted agreement and local requirements control.
Working for both does not excuse late or unfinished deliveries. An app’s own batch has a route within that app; it does not account for an order you accept elsewhere. Declining an offer and canceling an accepted job affect different metrics, and acceptance can affect rewards or access.
Check the ratings and availability rules for your market. Uber’s Planner pilot adds scheduled access in selected cities, so going offline does not guarantee you can immediately go back online.
Using DoorDash and Uber Eats simultaneously: one phone or two?
You can switch between the Dasher and Uber Driver apps on one compatible phone. Before a shift, check notifications, battery, and each app’s online status while parked. A second phone does not solve pickup delays or conflicting commitments; the important step is managing new requests after accepting a job.
